It's not just you
It's not just you.
It's not just Zoom. It’s not just remote work or home school.
It's not just missing friends or any other disruption to your personal life.
It's not even all of these put together.
It’s not just you. It's everyone. Everyone you know and don't know.
It's your family, friends, neighbors. Your team, and your boss.
It's people who are like you and people who are not.
It's pandemic, yes, but also economic.
And political and societal.
Social and racial.
Ecological.
Existential.
It’s not just you.
It's the volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity of our time.
It's everything we don't know and can't control.
It's the earth moving beneath our feet.
It's trauma in the making:
Constant stress—
we may not perceive,
can barely fathom,
cannot fully process—
that compounds daily.
It's not just you, and it's not a normal time.
It's not a time for work-harder-head-down.
It's time for take-a-breath-and-look-around.
It’s time to focus our limited attention, time and energy intentionally and strategically.
It's time to abandon comfort zones and design new, more sustainable systems.
It's time to look for potential everywhere, to forge unusual alliances.
It's time to trust your power. And then use it to create the future.
It's not just you.
But we won't get there without you.
