Reason vs. Purpose
I don’t believe everything happens for a reason.
I do believe in looking for the lesson.
The lesson may simply be, “this is what this feels like.”
So that the next time someone else is going through it, we will be able to:
sense it
empathize
offer skillful support.
Which is better than a reason. That’s a purpose.
A reason only explains, rationalizes, theorizes.
A purpose transforms injustice into progress, pain into care, cruelty into love.
