Common ground
needs
to
serve
the common good.
There is wisdom in walking the “middle way” between extremes, but not every extreme is worth negotiating. Compromise with oppression is not common ground.
Common ground will be found where our true needs and interests align, and I suspect there is much more of it than our polarized political positions would have us believe.
It’s time to change the conversation. But first we need to remember who we really are and what we actually need.
